About the Congress

Working Towards Research Innovations

GeNeDis is a World Congress on "Genetics, Geriatrics and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research" that takes place every two years. The conference is organised by the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology (BiHELab) of the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University.

Paving the way towards the second decade of GeNeDis, the first step was to reinvent our agenda to meet the new challenges arising in the scientific sectors regarding health. For its 10-year anniversary, GeNeDis moves on to a new era, as GeNeDIS, a "Genomics, Neuroscience, Therapeutics and Data Innovation Summit".

In this new era, the conference will focus on the latest major challenges in scientific research, the development of novel biomarkers and protocols for early diagnosis of diseases, and the identification of new drug targets and imaging techniques, as well as several other scientific advances.

Over 50 keynote speakers from pristine institutes such as the Johns Hopkins University, Karolinska Institute's Nobel Institute for Neurophysiology, National Institute on Aging (NIA/NIH), EMBL Heidelberg, and Columbia University are uniquely placed in the scientific program to share their work and discuss the newest findings in the field of neuroscience.
